DSC_0031.JPGThe American Cancer Society's relay for life was heled at Rosemary beach Florida, a beautiful beach community of tourist and locals. The Sticks & Stones band provided the entertainment which helped to make the event more then a success.

This fundraiser happens every year to promote cancer awareness and to acknowledge and show support to cancer survivors and those who are still battling this disease. We spoke with Sticks & Stones bandleader Gerald (Sticks) Marshall and he said.......it is always good to help when and where ever I can.

Before moving to Florida I would always help when the fund drives would start, you know like working the phones in the evening when ever I could, just trying to help, it's an honor for me.

Sticks & Stones entertained the Snowbirds (2-20-2011) Walton county news http://www.sandestinbeachhilton.com/

"One’s eyes moisten when reflecting upon those unfortunate snowbirds who missed buying tickets for the annual dinner dance where Carolyn Northcott, chatelaine of the Sandestin Hilton Ballroom feted guests with mouth-watering chicken breast medallions served with a boursin cream sauce, herb crusted Mahi-Mahi, steamed potatoes, a tangy vegetable medley, and a salad of mixed greens garnished with tomato, cucumber and carrot curl all seeped in a spiced vinaigrette.  And the deserts…if you weren’t there it would only deepen your wretchedness to learn of the variety of cakes beginning with the to-die-for creamy chocolate, you missed.  First year Walton County Snowbird members, David and Dawn Sonnenberg of Lansing, Michigan didn’t miss any of it.  After dining, the couple remained to enjoy music makers Sticks and Stones who found a receptive audience that packed the dance floor elbow to elbow, buttock to…well you get the idea.  Thanks aplenty to co-hosts husband and wife team, Ralph Wozniak and Kay Hess who along with Al Francis organized a premier event.  Al, who has been involved with the annual dance for five years and is well acquainted with the Destin entertainment scene, ranks the Sticks and Stones high on the list of entertainers he would like to see have return engagements.  Snowbirds, make a note.  Don’t miss this next year."
